In the Fall of 2015, I was honored to be asked by the Smithsonian to design a Bottle Tree for their new National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened September 24th, 2016, in Washington DC.

Long story, short...I designed, created, and submitted three designs for the museum to choose from...two made in steel and one made in copper. 

But…they chose another artist’s beautiful design. Regardless...it was an honor.
